Honored as the 2003 West Virginia Professor of the Year, Linda has had a long career as an engaged teacher. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Wisconsin – and topped it off with a minor in Computer Science and Curriculum & Instruction. With 26 years in the higher education classroom, Linda has also coached individual writers, led numerous professional development workshops for K-12 teachers, and spoken at state, national, and international education conferences. Whatever the venue, Linda loves teaching – and her enthusiasm shows.

Linda's writing ranges from scholarship to memoir, from magazine articles to web content development, from curriculum and training materials to fact sheets and reports. Reviewers have praised her writing as "lively and compelling," "uncluttered and clear." Her outstanding writing skills have won her a prestigious Rockefeller Foundation Humanities Fellowship as well as numerous research grants.

Linda began her career as a typesetter and proofreader and has maintained exacting standards ever since. She has served as a copy editor, proofreader, and peer editor and has developed and taught an advanced course in technical editing. A stickler for detail, Linda produces clean, correct copy.
